The Debut of Wine & Convos was thrilled to feature Edelheiss Wine by Rodney Foster. Rodney is a DC native and therefore did not grow up near vineyards. He was introduced to wine in his adult years and through travel. In fact, he was on vacation in Switzerland, when he had of a wine that you can also warm up. Edelheiss Wine was created.

Edelheiss Wine features a signature organic sweet red wine. A wine you can drink chilled or warmed. Edelheiss wine is also presented in a recyclable bottle that does not require a cork screw and makes it easy for all audiences to enjoy.

You purchase Edelheiss Wine online or at local stores throughout the district. Purchase or find locations here.

The Recap: Black Health

The Debut of Wine & Convos was a sold out success introducing the district to a new event and engaging 25 locals with the topic of Black Health. Attendees began the evening with a wine mixer and a fun instruction on how to properly taste wine by Founder Tanika Mangum, along with the wine story of Edelheiss Wine.

The room doors opened to reveal a long communal table with a full course seated dinner for guests. Surprised - would be an understatement. Based on the theme Black Health, the dinner included a health conscious selection including vegan options. But the real stars of the show were the featured panelists!

An impressive panel for a debut indeed. The panel included:

Tyecia Powell - Director of Operations, BikramYogaWorks Studio Social Media

Dr. Philip Johnson - CEO, P & G Behavioral Health Services Social Media

Andre Arthur - Ergonomist & CEO, iErgoFit Social Media

Dr. Baruch Ben-Yehudah - CEO & Founder, Everlasting Life Social Media

Ebony Toussaint - Ph.D Candidate University of Maryland Social Media

These panelists led a powerful conversation about health in the Black community. What is critical and things we must pay immediate attention to? How can we make an impact and how can we strive to be better in our own health pursuits?

A memorable night that set the tone for more things to come!

The Recap: Black Love

The second edition of Wine & Convos was held in Brookland DC at a lovely intimate location. Another sold out event and full crowd of wine enthusiasts. This event had a special guest affectionately known as “The Wine Lady”, Jameelah Lewis, founder of Uncorked Bar DC. The Wine Lady positive energy and straight talk was a perfect after work vibe to being led through a unique wine tasting of four Maison Noir wines by the extraordinary Andre Mack! Don’t know much about wine? Certainly not an issue at Wine & Convos, as the event craters to all levels in a fun and engaging environment.

Was there food? Oh you bet! Not only were there cheese pairings with each wine but a full course dinner - a creole dinner with delicious Jambalaya, Blackened Catfish, Collard Greens and Maque choux. Leave room for dessert - the Banana Coconut Bread Pudding that is.

Conversation Topic - Black Love. A rather unique discussion about ownership, selecting a mate, modern day dating and opening dating options. Guest panelists included relationship conversationalist and christian dating influencer Jennifer Trotter, a graduate of Clark Atlanta University with focused study on Black women and mate selection Candace Goggans and DC Dating coach Gori Olufon.

Wine & Convos is a definite event to keep your eyes on, as it is something that is sure to grow.
